I know it isn’t Hockey but we’re going with this for the season. In what was a game where a number of players stood out, here are my 3 stars from the Chiefs win over the Chargers.
Patrick Mahomes – 256 yards, 4 touchdowns
Oh baby! I was already excited about what the next 15 years has in store for us Chiefs fans. Yesterday did nothing whatsoever to dampen my excitement for Patrick ‘Showtime’ Mahomes. After his almost perfect performance, it is going to be really hard to manage expectations over the coming weeks. If he puts in a similar performance against Pittsburgh, then I think we may just all lose our minds.
Ron Parker – 8 tackles, 1 interception
Hey, remember this guy! It’s crazy to think that Ron Parker wasn’t even on this team just two weeks ago. This was very similar to a game a few years back in Buffalo where Parker was the stand out guy on defence. Ok he may have not had as many big plays yesterday but he certainly come up trumps when required, most importantly with an excellent interception of Rivers.
Tyreek Hill – 268 yards , 3 touchdowns
The best non-QB playmaker in the NFL, simple as that. Since entering the league no player has as many big plays as Tyreek. This Chiefs offence will give defensive coordinators all over the league assignment headaches every single week. Tyreek may just be the biggest headache of them all.
