NFL Week 2 – Game of the Week

Hey guys, Dave here with another preview of my pick for game of the week. As always, I’ll look to pick a game that doesn’t run at the same time as the Chiefs game, so you can all have another game to look forward to watching each week.

My pick for this week is last year’s Super Bowl runners-up, the New England Patriots, facing off against the Jacksonville Jaguars, in a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship game.

The Teams

New England Patriots

PatriotsThe Patriots come into this game off the back off a victory against the Houston Texans. The Patriots got off to a strong start as they punished a young Texans side for their mistakes and caused problems for Deshaun Watson all game. The offense was solid, if not spectacular, although a season ending injury to Jeremy Hill could certainly hurt them in the run game. Defensively they were on fire against the Texans, getting pressure all day long and not allowing the Texans to get into a rhythm.

Jacksonville Jaguars

JaguarsOn the other side, the Jacksonville Jaguars come into this game off of a very indifferent performance against a pretty average New York Giants side. On the plus side, outside of a big run from rookie sensation Saquon Barkley, their defense looks just as formidable as it did a year ago. The big question, as always, for the Jags is which version of Blake Bortles is going to show up on Sunday. If Bortles can avoid turnovers and keep the offense ticking over, the Jaguars can certainly cause the Patriots plenty of problems. The health of Leonard Fournette is certainly something to look out for.

Where to Watch?

The game is live on Sky at 9:25pm on Sunday evening, so you wont even have to change the channel after the Chiefs play the Steelers at 6pm.

I think the Jags will edge out a close one and avenge their defeat in last years Championship game.

21-17 Jaguars
