If the Chiefs can pull this one off on Sunday, then they will hold all of the cards in the race for homefield advantage. A big ask yes, but Andy Reid knows how to beat the Patriots; With ‘Big Red’ 2 and 1 since moving to Kansas City. Whilst this will have to be team effort to win this match up, some may have more of an influence than others.
Pat Mahomes
Let’s start with the obvious. After the worst (but not bad) performance of his career, the world will be once again ready to pass judgement on the young gunslinger. Although this should be a favourable match up for Mahomes and his wealth of weapons, the task ahead cannot be understated.
James White and Sony Michel
All of a sudden the Patriots have somewhat of a thunder and lightning combo in the backfield. Whilst Michel is the ground guy, James White is responsible for most of the catches out of the backfield. Either way, both of these players have the attributes to hurt the Chiefs.
Marcus Kemp
Yes, that is right. With the Chiefs down to just two fit safeties Marcus Kemp has been practicing as the Chiefs ’emergency’ safety. Here’s to hoping that Ron Parker and Jordan Lucas can last the game.
Tyreek Hill
After lighting the Chargers up in week one, Tyreek Hill has been receiving a lot of attention from opposing defensive coordinators and defenders. This has meant that Tyreek hasn’t put up the monster numbers of week one, but the attention he gets has led to a more balanced Chiefs offensive output. That being said, I fancy Tyreek to go off in Foxborough this Sunday.
Not -all- the cards. We still have Cincinnati.
