The story so far

The Chiefs have blown away almost everyone this season, with the exception of the Patriots and Rams away and both of the losses came late and by 3 points. The possible return of Eric Berry and the team are rested coming off a bye, things are picking up at the right time of the season.

The Raiders quit their season the moment they traded one of the best defensive players in the league for a late 1st round pick. Chucky has rolled back the years and played a brand of football last seen c1993, which is when most of their roster was in it’s prime. 10 years and 100 million dollar contract? I could have screwed them up just as bad for half the price!

One to watch

Eric Berry.

Will he play? Personally I doubt it this week but you never know, He needs game time before the Chargers game in 2 weeks time, maybe on a limited snap count he can start to work his way back in.

Key Matchup

Chris Jones v Raiders interior O Line.

The one plus this season for the Raiders has been the interior of the O Line. Solid in the run and pass game, they’ve been a lonely plus so far. Chris Jones is fresh from his player of the month award, and has been wreaking havoc with 7 pressures in both of the last 2 games, a feat rarely achieved before. If he can get pressure on Carr, this game could get very ugly very quickly.

What they said

Doug Martin

“We’ve got to be detail-oriented, doing your own job and not doing too much, staying calm throughout the whole series. It’s tough … we did it one time on that first series, but we’ve got to do that on a consistent basis.”

What we said

Marty Schottenheimer

“As a football team there was a philosophy relative to how you beat the Raiders. That was you went into the game with the understanding that the first half would come and go and you would want to stay in the contest but if you stayed the course into the fourth quarter you would find a way to somehow beat them or they’d beat themselves and you’d end up the winner anyway. That’s the way they functioned in my view.

Chiefs -15.5 points.
