The story so far
The Chiefs opened the season on Thursday night with a very comfortable win over a lacklustre Texans side. The game was never in doubt beyond the 1st quarter and Clyde Edwards-Helaire showcased why the Chiefs took a RB in the 1st round of the draft with a stellar performance.
This gave Andy Reid 10 days to prepare for the Chargers. Considering his fantastic record coming off extended breaks and considering the Chiefs own the AFC West, that spells bad news for the Chargers who scraped past Joe Burrow and the Bungles thanks to a late missed FG.
The Chargers are riding the arm of Tyrod Taylor (eh?) to probable mediocrity. The really interesting point of their season will be when 1st round QB Justin Herbert takes over the starting job. Already missing key players through injury, the Chargers look like they are in for a long season.

One to watch
Demarcus Robinson.
He was frequently wide open last week and he frequently dropped the ball. That’s not a great combination. If teams are devoting more resources to stopping Edwards-Helaire as well as Hill and Kelce, expect Robinson to continue to be wide open. He could potentially need a good performance or Mecole Hardman could be eating up his snaps.
Key Matchup
Keenan Allen v L’Jarius Sneed
Sneed was targeted early and often last week. After some early nerves he grew into the game and finished with a very accomplished performance. Keenen Allen is a step above Will Fuller though. Some (he) would say that he’s the best WR in the division. I’m not convinced by that, but he is really good and Sneed will have his hands full. If the Chargers stand any chance in this game they’ll need a big game from Allen.
Odds
Chiefs by 8.5. Game points 47.5. I’m taking the Chiefs to cover the spread and the over on the points. It would take something crazy this year to take the under with this offence.
