The story so far
The biggest game of the season? In week 3? Possibly so. This could well be the tie breaker that decides the No 1 seed and a precious bye week come January. The Ravens have a relatively straight forward looking schedule, one could almost make a case that this is a must win if the Chiefs want that top billing in the playoffs.
The Ravens have been very impressive in their two wins so far, the offence has been potent and the defence stingy. Lamar Jackson has carried on where he left off as league MVP last year.
The Chiefs? Well, week 1 looked very impressive but they made very hard work of beating the Chargers last week. Mahomes looked out of sorts, receivers struggled to get open and the O Line struggled to block. It was deep into the 4th quarter before they fired enough to get into Harrison Butker’s range.
Head to head
Chiefs lead 6-4

One to watch
Mike Pennel
Back up D line is the one to watch? Do you remember the back end of last season when Pennel was key in an improved run defence? Yeah, well he needs to be back on that form Monday night. Problem is, he was suspended for the first two games of the season so he could be a bit rusty. Chiefs need a big game from the D Line to slow down the Ravens ground game.
Key Matchup
Tyrann Mathieu v Mark Andrews
Although I’d worry about the Ravens run game, the play action off it could be the deciding factor in this game. If the Honey Badger can take away Lamar Jackson’s favourite red zone threat and keep the Ravens to 3s rather than 7s that could go a long way towards deciding the outcome here.
Odds
Ravens by 3.5
Game points 54.5
I think this will be a ridiculously close game, probably going to whoever has the ball last. Chiefs to cover the spread and over on the game points.
